Did you know a pound of fat is 3,500 calories? So to lose a pound a week you have to eat 500 less calories every day or run about 6 miles every day! Hmm. Sounds simple yet so challenging.
Did you know roughly one out of every ten Americans have diabetes? Experts predict we will hit one out of every five by 2030 and one out of every three by 2050.
Weight is a health issue – more importantly nutrition action is a health goal. What do I mean by nutrition action? I mean taking action to improve nutrition goals.
Here in our office we perform biometric screening, weight counseling and medication management. There is no one system for everyone. We will work with you to help you to take nutrition action.
Start by calculating your Body Mass Index (BMI). If your BMI is 30 or over, you may be at higher risk for weight related health issues. If your BMI is between 25 and 29 and you have underlying medical issues, like diabetes or high blood pressure, you may benefit from weight loss. We typically start with a physical so we can assess your baseline biometric and metabolic levels. Please contact us if you would like more information.
